X-Net Services GmbH and its client Obermayr Holzkonstruktionen GesmbH receive the Constantinus Award for their VINCENT digitisation project at the Hofburg Palace in Vienna.

They were honored for their outstanding collaboration and innovative use of open source-based information technology in the timber construction industry. By implementing modern IT solutions, they were able to achieve efficiency gains, cost savings, and improvements in production planning.

The top-ranked digitisation solution

The custom software VINCENT developed by X-Net digitises and optimises work preparation and production of glued laminated timber at Obermayr Holzkonstruktionen. The processes involved in work preparation and production planning are complex and specific to the company and its products. They range from ordering the required wood in the needed quality and condition to coordinating storage and drying intervals to planning production with the aim of optimising capacity utilisation and stock levels. With VINCENT, production capacities can be fully utilised. At the same time, Obermayr can react flexibly to changes (e.g., additional orders, delivery delays, machine breakdowns).

“We are very proud of this award and would like to thank the Constantinus Award jury for recognising our work,” says Nikolaus Dürk, managing director of X-Net Services GmbH. “Our partnership with Obermayr Holzkonstruktionen has shown how information technology can help make companies even more successful and competitive in today's digital world, and how important partnership-based and transparent communication is in collaboration.”

The jury emphasises that this project is a very good individual solution with innovative character and great added value for the customer. Business processes and IT have been excellently combined.

The Constantinus Award is considered one of the most important prizes in the Austrian IT industry and recognises outstanding achievements and innovations in the field of information technology. Consultants are honored together with their clients. The award is an initiative of the Professional Association for Management Consulting, Accounting, and Information Technology (UBIT) and is presented annually.

Further nominations:

In addition to VINCENT, two other X-Net customer projects were nominated and participated in the award ceremony. “CARDEA – Digital comprehensive solution for managing attendance, courses, grades, and equipment” for the Medical Faculty of Johannes Kepler University in Linz (represented by Katharina Steininger-Kaar and Vice Rector Andreas Janko) and “SEC3 – Open source-based OT solution for protecting critical infrastructure” at glass machine manufacturer LiSEC (represented by Harald Miksch).
