A reason to celebrate and give the “child” a name!
In times when environmental protection and sustainability are becoming increasingly important, we as a company are proud to make a further contribution to reducing our ecological footprint. A few months ago, we added a company cargo bike to our fleet, and we are delighted to announce a milestone: our company cargo bike has reached the 1,000-kilometer mark!
The idea behind the cargo bike
The idea to use a company cargo bike in our business came from our desire to make our deliveries and transport more environmentally friendly while also using the cargo bike as a sustainable advertising space. As a company committed to sustainability and the responsible use of resources, it was important for us to find alternative transport options for journeys in and around Linz.
The advantages of a company cargo bike
Our company cargo bike has proven to be an extremely efficient and versatile means of transport. Here are some of the advantages we have noticed over the past few months:
- Environmental friendliness: the company cargo bike produces no harmful emissions and thus contributes to reducing our carbon footprint
- Cost savings: compared to motorised vehicles, the operating costs of a cargo bike are significantly lower. We not only save money on fuel, but also on maintenance and repairs. In addition, the federal and state governments offer attractive subsidies that create additional financial incentives.
- Flexibility: the bicycle makes it easier for us to reach busy downtown areas and make deliveries more efficiently
- Image boost: the use of a company cargo bike underscores our commitment to sustainability and environmental protection
1.000 miles and more
In recent months, our employees have been eagerly using the company cargo bike to make deliveries to customers and for internal transport. The fact that we have clocked up 1,000 kilometers in just a few months shows how successful this initiative has been in our company. This milestone was combined with the naming ceremony for the cargo bike. Employees were able to submit name ideas over the past few weeks and then vote for the best name. On September 26, our cargo bike was finally christened “Brummhilde” and has been whizzing around Linz under this name ever since.
We are proud that sustainable transport solutions can be successfully implemented in companies and make a small but significant contribution to environmental protection. We will continue to intensify our efforts in this regard. Many thanks to our dedicated team who drove this initiative forward and to our customers who support us in our sustainability efforts.
